Alright ya’ll,
Good news, I lost another 1.6 Lbs This week was a bit challenging for me because I got really busy. This was a great way however for me to learn how to balance a healthier lifestyle with a busy on the go life. I found myself going to sleep early and missing my last shake of the day a couple nights. I talked with my coach Jess about it and she gave me some really helpful tips, so I make sure I am getting all my calories in that day! I also had the opportunity to go to the Profile by Sanford store out in Montgomery. The store is beautiful! Anyway, I needed to re-up on my shakes, meal bars and Jess my coach said I was now able to try other products they have as I’m entering week 3 and 4. My intention with this program is to keep as it authentic and real as possible. I told Jess that I was craving a pop, Coke to be exact so bad! She said if I really wanted one, I could have a Diet Coke, I told her I needed the hard stuff lol She said well if you can hold off, I promise it will be worth it. That reassurance was really all I needed to keep going - that and the commitment I made to myself. I am really loving seeing the changes I am making not only on the outside but on the inside. Looking forward to next week. You should join me! You can use my special code MORGAN for a discount, so make sure you check it out. But you gonna get foxy anyway. 🤷🏽♀️ Did you know @target just launched a new collection designed by a Black woman @carlycushnie Make sure you head to @target and pick up one of these amazing dresses, there is something for everyone! Hey ya’ll!
I hope you all are having a great week. I have been pretty busy hosting a Masterclass, getting ready to do a Instagram challenge, shooting content, pitching to brands, editing pictures, and of course strategizing on a million other things - life of a busy body entrepreneur. Which is something I will not complain about because there was a point in time recently due to covid19 I wasn’t sure how I was going to stay afloat - all blessings and God. As you know, I’ve been on a journey back to healthier and happier me :) I wanted to drop by the Blog and give you a super easy and quick one pan dish! There’s really no name to it, so let's call it, “Morgan’s Protein/Veggie Pan” - this is a super easy way to get your protein and veggies in. What you need:
What you do:
Now, I like to pour mixture in a bowl and sprinkle a little shaved parmesan cheese on top and enjoy! I am staying away from carbs but you could pour on top some spiral pasta or rice and it would be delicious still. Easy clean up and easy quick dinner. Is this something you would try? Feelin’ Myself
Well, week one is complete! I am down a total of 5 pounds!! Whoop whoop! I am so proud of myself for sticking to my plan, outside of a few mishaps. When I met with my coach Jess, she told me the first 2 weeks would be a time where I would be reprogramming my body so I would be eating 6 small meals throughout the day. I start my morning off with a Shake, then 2 hours later another Shake, then for Lunch I get another Shake, Vegetable and Fat, for snack I get a fiber bar, Dinner I get a Protein, Fat and Vegetable and then end the night with another Shake. That's a lot for a day, right? Here I am used to eating maybe 2 meals a day with no snack. I tried a variety of flavors for the shake but my favorite so far is the Mocha Latte, Chocolate Brownie and Mint Chocolate Chip. The fiber bars I tried are: Chocolate Almond and Cinnamon - both are yummy! There was a couple of nights I was so tired I went to bed without having my last shake, and it was a long and stressful week with everything happening in the world, I asked Jess if I could have a glass of wine. She told me it wasn't recommended but if I could wait until Saturday, I could have at least one. I was so happy! I love that this program allows you to still LIVE. The most important thing I want to stress is being open and honest with your coach in order for you to have the best success. Jess did not make me feel bad about wanting something and that motivated me to stick with what her advice was. I will also say I told her I was craving eating carbs but she assured me I could have those later on in the plan. Knowing that, was alright with me. I also asked Jess was 5 lbs a good weigh in? She told me not to focus on the weight loss but non-scale victories which is amazing. I did tell her I felt like I had more energy, my mood was improving and my sleep was getting better. So often we have to remind ourselves the scale is not the end all measure of success. Remember the other victories! Looking forward to what week 3 brings, you should join me! Father’s Day came early for mine because why wait for tomorrow? What’s a better way to surprise my own Dad with a delicious and big breakfast from Frisch's Big Boy. Frisch's has always held a special place in my memories because when I was younger we used to go to Frisch's often as a family for dinner. Those are the moments that I will never forget, as we all get older and busy in our lives - spending time together is what's most important. My Dad and I would even have quite a few Daddy/Daughter dates spent at Frisch's. We often get wrapped up in the big gesture gifts and we forget about those that will evoke a memory. I think those are priceless. Let me tell y’all, right now they have a Father’s Day special for only $19.99!! Check out all of this food that comes with it:
With all the butter, jelly and utensils you need. My Mom loved it to because it saved her from cooking. My Dad was totally surprised and loved it. If you’re looking for a way to treat your Dad for Father’s Day please go to your nearest Frisch's and order a Father’s Day breakfast time go! My local Frisch's had my order hot and ready to go when I got there, they were amazing. Thank you Frisch's for making this Father’s Day super special ✨ This is a promotional partnership with Frisch's Every coach needs a coach.
Transparency post. If you have been following me on social media or know my story, you know I've struggled with my weight all my life. The whole reason I started Curvy Cardio was to help love myself from the inside out through fitness. That definitely helped me get in the best shape of my life combined with changing my eating habits. When I started going into entrepreneurship full time however, my life schedule changed drastically. I was on the go, traveling out of town, having meeting after meeting, oftentimes I would just be fueled by coffee or one meal a day. That took a toll on me and my body. It wasn't that I was eating bad, I just wasn't giving my body the proper nutrition and fuel and my body and energy reflected it. Yes, I was still working super hard and had great accomplishments, but I was tired and worn down. Now that I've been home for the past couple of months I have really committed myself to getting back to the best version of myself. I was so happy that I discovered Profile by Sanford. They are all about helping you be a better you through nutrition. They use science based plans that are personalized to fit your lifestyle and goals! I really love their approach to getting healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and what works for me! Working out has never been a problem for me, but working out is only a small percentage of the battle. In fact, I've been back teaching my Curvy Cardio class 4 days a week, so I am super excited to have help on the nutrition and eating side. I was super excited to meet with my coach Jess, who is super adorable and bubbly! We had a virtual consultation because we can't meet in person currently but that was fine with me. She went over my goals, my barriers and what she could do to make sure this was going to be successful for me - which I loved. This is not about a crash diet or losing weight the unhealthy way, which I have always been about, because honestly I tried that before like so many others - and it doesn't work after so long. The goal is to create a healthy routine that I can sustain even when I am able to travel and be on the go again. Before I started my customized plan, I got to pick up what nutritional shake flavors I wanted, bars and tea packets I can add to my water. I will post my journey over the next couple of months here every week so I stay accountable but also I encourage anyone who wants to join me, come on! You can even use my special code MORGAN here to get a discount. Yes, it's an investment, but isn't your health priceless? Here we go... Before the world shutdown, I took a trip to @clothesmentorhydepark back in late February, I was getting ready for a photoshoot later that day and needed a quick outfit. Now, if you know me then you know I love mixing high and low pieces. @clothesmentorhydepark is the perfect place to get trendy pieces for a classic look for less. Here’s what I found: ✨Ralph Lauren Black Cashmere Sweater ✨Leopard Print Skater Skirt ✨Duo Gold Layered Necklace Ready for the grand total? Only $38!!! Issa whole look I put together for under $50. The over the knee boots @louboutinworld are mine that I’ve had for years. Now, the leopard print skater skirt may be headed to Morgan’s Closet but I think I’m keeping the Black Cashmere Sweater, it feels so soft! How do you think I did? Also bonus reason to buy trendy clothes for less, I’ve lost nearly 15 pounds since then!!💕 Father’s Day is right around the corner! Have you gotten your Dad the perfect gift yet? If you are like me, then no. For me, getting a gift for my Dad can be very challenging. I’ve decided to switch up the usual gifts of ties and gift cards. Here are some quick and thoughtful gift ideas that will make Dad’s of all ages and styles happy. Personalized Dad Cookies How cute are these!? Why not treat Dad to a sweet treat all for him. These personalized cookies came all the way from Columbus, Ohio from Adrienne Ray of Rayning Sweet Treats. Here you can see cookies spelled out “D-A-D” with some delicious tools. What Dad wouldn't want some treats dedicated solely to them, even though Dad's seem to eat everyone's food anyway :) This is a perfect gift for the Dad who has everything already. Beard Oil Dad’s can look good too! It’s been the year of the “beard” so whether its Dad or Zaddy, give Dad the gift of self care with this beard oil from Rooted by Herbaceous. This all natural beard oil has great benefits such as: increases blood flow circulation, slows premature greying, penetrates hair shaft to moisture, strengthens and promotes hair thickness and soothes itchy and dry skin. This would be a perfect gift for those Dad's who take pride in their beard care. Personalized Dad Cup What Dad doesn’t like his own cup to himself? This custom glass was made by Dove-vinely Inspired Creations, they make custom-made monogrammed glasses and tumblers. This is the perfect gift for the Dad who enjoys watching sports, movies or just wants everyone to know over dinner that they are #1. Here they customized a glass for my Dad :) I hope he doesn't read this before Sunday. :) Masculine Candle This is a perfect gift for the “man cave.” This candle by Elon Wick Candle Company entitled, “Grey” smells masculine and clean. Your Dad will love to light this while enjoying his favorite drink or getting work done in his home office. The website describes it as, "GREY is made with six essential oils creating a sensual touch for the suit & tie type of guy. It works equally well as a masculine or feminine fragrance, so ladies who love grey sweatpants- this is for you too!" Sidenote: Ladies, you will love this candle scent as well. It was giving me all the FEELS of what I would want my man to smell like. Thank me later Lapel Pin

Please make sure you support these small business entrepreneurs not just during holidays but year round, they would sincerely appreciate it! Hey ya'll! As you know, I've started back on my journey to growing my curls back out. 3 years ago I decided I wanted something new (around my 30th birthday) and wanted to go blonde! The blonde definitely was fun and exciting but it made me have to cut my hair :( I then transitioned to a cinnamon red color for a few months and decided my hair was never going to get back to the length I wanted if I did not go back dark and let my natural hair breathe. So here we are :) Over the course of time I will share what I've been doing to my hair to get my hair moisturized especially during the summer months and how I keep my curls poppin! I tried this deep conditioning treatment from Hollywood Beauty Products. Now, most of you may have heard of them before, most may not. I tried the Olive Oil that helps with hair breakage and Olive Cholesterol which is a deep conditioning product. Here is what I did: 1. Shower and Condition your hair as normal. I did comb my hair while wet in the shower. 2. Apply the Olive Cholesterol and added a few drops of the Olive Oil for maximum results. 3. Let sit for 15-20 minutes. The directions also said you could do this in the shower for 2 minutes if you are doing a quick treatment. If you decide to sit for 15-20 minutes you don't have to put heat on it, just wrap the hair in a moist towel. 4. Don't forget to Rinse! 5. I did apply some curl product to my hair after but that was really it! Overall I really enjoyed these two products! I could see that my curls were reactivating and my hair felt so soft and manageable. They also smell really good!! I had an easy time finding the oil but the hair cholesterol took some searching, but I finally found it at my local CVS. You can also find products at your local beauty supply, Target, Sally Beauty and more. Is this something you would try? |
