Calm down, I’m talking about lipstick. I had the chance to try out Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Divinyl Lip Shine in Belle Amour and it did not disappoint. First, honey let's get into this packaging - it is so slick and luxe. Lip Fetish Divinyl Lip Shine goes on smooth with a high gloss finish. I would describe it as rich pigment but with a lip balm texture. It left my lips soft, hydrating and oh so kissable.
Make sure you guys look out for this line by Pat McGrath - just look for the pink chrome case, which of course I couldn’t pass up. Is this something you would try?

I had an opportunity to try out Bliss Clear Genius Body Acne Spray before it hit the shelves and it did not disappoint. My face skin care I keep top notch but I’ve always been on the look out for a solution for certain parts of my body that breakout. This body spray has two things that I really love: 🚿This body acne spray with maximum strength 2% salicylic acid shrinks and prevents acne for clearer skin without over-drying. 🚿Clinically-proven to reduce acne severity by 50% in 7 days (without irritation, flaking or over-drying) Additional benefits also include:
I highly recommend you all go try out Bliss Clear Genius Body Acne Spray and let me know how you like it! . The Herald Beauty welcomes everyone to Black History Month. There have been so many instrumental Black women in the beauty industry, many of whom are just now getting their shine. Take for example the first Black Woman Millionaire, Madam C.J. Walker: who first started selling a hair grower at the turn of the 20th century, was the first American woman to become a self-made millionaire. Recently Netflix came out with her story, but previously you never really heard much about her.
Over the course of February, Herald Beauty will aim to spotlight black owned beauty businesses, products to try and as always remind our audience that our Black is truly beautiful. Personally, for as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with all thing’s beauty, fashion and lifestyle. I blame my mother. I grew up being the only girl and watching my mother in awe when she got dressed to attend a function or a meeting. She had a full walk-in closet with amazing shoes, dresses and my personal favorite, handbags. My mother is beautiful without material things, but these just enhanced her style – I envied it. My grandma (my mom’s mother), the only grandmother I’ve known, Pauline was a beautician – it definitely must run in my blood! I remember my grandmother had vintage jewelry and beautiful fur stoles/coats. As a little girl I would play in her jewelry, hats and anything I could get my hands on. They were the ultimate images of Beauty to me. Something one day, I would inspire to be like. Black Women and Beauty are truly part of not only Black History but History. According to Essence Magazine, “African Americans spend $1.2 trillion each year, and that number is projected to rise to $1.5 trillion by this year. A 2018 study found that African American women entrepreneurs accounted for 20 percent of all women-owned businesses and had the highest rate of growth in new companies between 2017 and 2018.” Yet, we are often left out of the conversation and representation. That is exactly why Herald Beauty is here and we hope you have enjoyed this far with more to come. Rise and Shine, while you gettin’ fine...
Ladies! I know I haven’t been dropping some of my favorite skincare products lately, so I’m catching up. One of my beauty secrets is to use Jade face rollers on my face. I like putting mine in the freezer and then applying to my face. So what does a face roller do? It keeps that face tight and right, honey! They are so many benefits of using one such as:
So how do you you use it?
How often do you use it?
These roller balls come at a range of prices but honestly, I don't see much difference between a $20+ one versus a $8 one I found at TJMaxx - just make sure you stay consistent! There of course are other stone rollers you can use with different benefits. Would you like hearing about those too? Do you use a face roller? If not, would you start? Beauty Trends can sometimes be scary, but hey beauty is pain - right? Here are a few beauty trends you may be scared to try but you should do it anyway. BotoxNow, I know what you are thinking. Botox is for really bad wrinkles or I don't want to get Botox and not be able to move my face. These are both misconceptions. For me, I get Botox for my chronic migraines, I tried everything prior to getting Botox and this has been my saving grace. I've gotten Botox for YEARS. If it serves a dual whammy of making my forehead smooth, then so be it :) The secret to getting Botox is find someone who specializes in it and not just a bonus service. I paid my facial doctor, Dr. Donath a visit. He is the BEST. What led me to him was, he specializes just in the face and it took awhile to even get in for an appointment, you know that means he is doing something right. Botox is not just for older women, you can get Botox for preventative measures as well as extra benefits such as stopping migraines, like me. In the video, Dr. Donath explains in detail what he is going to do, the procedure is painless as they numb the area before. If you're scared of needles then close your eyes, you'll only feel a slight pinch. The recovery time is very minimal. The basic things are, you can't exercise for 24 hours, you can't lay down for 4 hours to avoid increased blood flow which might cause the botox to be dispersed, and other guidelines your Doctor should give you for aftercare. This is a beauty trend, I definitely approve and you should try. Please hit up Dr. Donath's office for a consultation, his whole staff is amazing. Infrared BlanketYou must be looking at this picture and saying, what is this Morgan and why. Let me tell you, my good friends over at Rapid Results Cryo. introduced me to this new beauty treatment with their Infrared Blanket. Tiffany put me into this full body blanket that heats up and helps:
Sounds like a good time to me! Make sure you visit Rapid Results Cryo and take advantage of some special offers this month! Microblading/MicroshadingEveryone wants great eyebrows, right? Often times my eyebrows take the longest getting that perfect shape. The Brow Therapist offers semi permanent eyebrow services if you dare for great brows as soon as you wake up. Now, I have not tried this beauty trend yet, because I had several questions like: will it hurt? what if I don't like it? I don't want my brows looking crazy. My advice would be to go to someone who has a lot of pictures of their work like The Brow Therapist. All my questions were answered on her FAQ page such as: Things you should know about Semi-permanent brows?
This made me feel comfortable, I will be trying this beauty trend very soon! Yoni SteamNow, I know - what kind of steam? Well ladies, this is something that looks scary but really is not. Im lying but it’s so necessary! I finally was able to book an appointment with my girl at Pure Beauty Skin Bar. Just because it’s a pandemic does not mean we can’t maintain self care and keep it cute. What I love about going to Pure Beauty Skin Bar is the owner Sylvia, she is very knowledgeable in skincare so she's going to make sure everything is done right and correctly. It's also a Black owned business, so double win! I must admit I was nervous getting a wax done, I had not gotten a wax in YEARS. I know I am ashamed to admit it, Sylvia actually was the last person to do it at her old location. Its funny because I used to get them regularly with no problems, and now I was acting scared. I did have Sylvia spray some numbing spray I found at Sally's Beauty but I don't think it made a difference. If you have never had a wax before, it's not the most pleasant experience but if you have someone who knows how to do it quickly, it helps a lot! So why get a wax? First of all, it makes wearing swimsuits easier, but it's also great for the summer heat and cleanliness - but really it's all about your preference and what makes your comfortable. I think every woman should experience a wax at least once in their life, who knows you may life it. Before you go get a wax here are some of MY tips:
Here are Sylvia's (the pro) Tips before you go:
Sylvia shared some aftercare tips as follows:
Are you a wax vet or scaredy cat? Make sure you visit Pure Beauty Skin Bar and schedule your wax! Foxy Friday is here!
I am green with envy :) Outfit details: Top: Zara Pants: Hue Hair Clips: H&M Jewelry: Chanel Shoes: Chinese Laundry Hey ya'll! As you know, I've started back on my journey to growing my curls back out. 3 years ago I decided I wanted something new (around my 30th birthday) and wanted to go blonde! The blonde definitely was fun and exciting but it made me have to cut my hair :( I then transitioned to a cinnamon red color for a few months and decided my hair was never going to get back to the length I wanted if I did not go back dark and let my natural hair breathe. So here we are :) Over the course of time I will share what I've been doing to my hair to get my hair moisturized especially during the summer months and how I keep my curls poppin! I tried this deep conditioning treatment from Hollywood Beauty Products. Now, most of you may have heard of them before, most may not. I tried the Olive Oil that helps with hair breakage and Olive Cholesterol which is a deep conditioning product. Here is what I did: 1. Shower and Condition your hair as normal. I did comb my hair while wet in the shower. 2. Apply the Olive Cholesterol and added a few drops of the Olive Oil for maximum results. 3. Let sit for 15-20 minutes. The directions also said you could do this in the shower for 2 minutes if you are doing a quick treatment. If you decide to sit for 15-20 minutes you don't have to put heat on it, just wrap the hair in a moist towel. 4. Don't forget to Rinse! 5. I did apply some curl product to my hair after but that was really it! Overall I really enjoyed these two products! I could see that my curls were reactivating and my hair felt so soft and manageable. They also smell really good!! I had an easy time finding the oil but the hair cholesterol took some searching, but I finally found it at my local CVS. You can also find products at your local beauty supply, Target, Sally Beauty and more. Is this something you would try? Hey Ya’ll! You all know my love for SKIN. I decided to try this “ethical beauty” company named Derma-E. They say “they are committed to you health, well-being and the natural environment.” I am always down to try skincare products that are natural and clean. I only wish they had sent me a moisturizer and a cleanser. I used my own cleanser however and used the rest of their products. The products I used are: Derma-E Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel First Impression: It smells GREAT! It also comes with a small spoon, which I’ve never used before. It is used to take the peel off - we shall see. I typically swear from peels because my skin sometimes ain’t having it, but since the brand is “natural” we shall see. After used: The citrus facial peel consistency reminds me of mashed sweet potatoes the application with a little spoon makes it a little tricky to apply. I think I prefer applying mask with my hands. After applying the mass I’m leaving it on for three minutes because sometimes my skin freaks out on peels, you can leave it on for five minutes it says. However, I’m am going to just try it for three minutes. After about a minute or so and I can already feel it tingle a little bit not to the point where I have to take it off. The smell is amazing though, it’s really fragrant. After my timer went off, you’re supposed to scrape the peel off with the little spoon again so I did that and that was fine. Then you’re supposed to rinse with cold water to neutralize the peel slight (tingling after application is normal) and then follow with your favorite derma E moisturizer again they didn’t send me a moisturizer just the serum spray and toner so I’m going to use the toner next. Derma-E Anti Wrinkle Toner First Impression: Smells amazing. I like toners so I’m looking forward to using this. After used: No complaints on this, it was light and not overpowering (did not make me face sting). Derma-E Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum First Impression: Smells good, the texture is gel like and the color looks like a greenish/gray - I am used to serums being clear or white. After used: Make sure you rub it into the skin really good and make sure your skin in dry first. Derma-E Blue Light Shield Spray First Impression: the spray is green, not used to color from sprays. The smell however smells like green tea, I’m looking forward using this. After used: Spray felt amazing after the peel and toner. Spray was very light and the smell reminds me of being in nature (if that makes sense). Derma-E Sun Defense Mineral Sunscreen (Face) First impression: Looks like standard sunscreen After use: Ladies, make sure your skincare routine includes sunscreen! Yes my melaninated ladies, we can still get skin cancer so wear it! Derma-E Sun Defense Mineral Sunscreen (Body) First Impression: Looks like standard sunscreen After use: No complaints here. In review, my skin felt amazing after the routine. I allowed my face to react to it after several hours and it was just fine. I like the company is clean, natural and stands behind their products.
