Do you a fridge for your skincare?
Yes, you heard me right – a fridge for your skincare. Skincare fridges are convenient way to store your necessary products of your skincare routine and make a great addition to your vanity. Did you know that chilling your skincare products is actually beneficial to your skin? You’ll have to check out my blog post all about it plus what you should store in there. You can find these cute skin fridges online or I found mine at TJMaxx The benefits of the cold skincare products constricting your blood vessels for a firmer and tighter appearance. This can also help with reducing dark under eyes or puffiness. I love keeping my moisturizer and jade roller in my skin fridge. I use the jade roller first after cleansing to help with tightening the skin and reducing redness, then use the cold moisturizer to seal it all in. So, what else should you store in your skin fridge?
Now, do you really NEED a skin fridge, no – the majority of skincare products are created to be stored at room temperature without any issues, unless the products recommend it to be stored. However, like anything put into the fridge it can help your skincare products last longer. You can find these cute skin fridges online or I found mine at TJ Maxx.

Last month I hosted a Heart Month Workout with my friends at @thechristhospital. Before we worked out we had a special guest, Dr. Odayme Quesada, who is the Medical Director of The Women’s Heart Center. She gave us some great information on heart health and how we can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Heart Talk Q&A with Dr. Quesada Q:Any warning signs you should worry about? A: It’s important to note that heart disease is the No. 1 killer in women. We know that women present with different heart disease symptoms than men. Listen to your body: left arm pain, left jaw pain, nausea, having a hard time breathing. These could all be signs of a heart attack. Q. What kind of things do you do to promote heart disease prevention with women at The Christ Hospital Women’s Heart Center? A. What we do is look at all the numbers: blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, sugar levels. We are calculating heart disease risk score, and based on that risk score, we estimate their 10-year risk of heart disease. Then depending where a woman’s individual heart disease risk score is, we talk about her lifestyle and diet, and how to make improvements. Q: Where is The Christ Hospital Women’s Heart Center located? A: The Women's Heart Center has two convenient locations in Montgomery and Ft. Wright, Ky. For more tips to help you live a healthier life, check out The Christ Hospital’s Healthspirations blog. Let’s keep our hearts happy and moving! We love our luxe products, but we also love our products for less. Don’t sleep on some great affordable beauty products you can find at your local drugstores. In this issue we share some of our favorites or products we wanted to test out to see how they compare to the more luxury products we love. Now, you all know how I feel about skincare, I have used this drugstore favorite for years – Elf Cosmetics. These products are super affordable, and you can find just about everywhere. What I love about Elf skincare products is they are light, airy and make perfect skin prep products before you apply makeup.
I found this great affordable set at Target called the Hydrated Ever After Skincare Kit. This would be a great option for someone who wanted to try Elf products out for the first time, and it was under $15! The kit includes: Eye Cream, Cleaning Balm, Face Cream, Face Cleanser and Hydrating Booster Drops (which is what I like to mix into my foundation to give me skin some extra moisture). These are also a great travel size, beauty on the go! I hope you enjoy this issue and let us know what are your favorite drugstore beauty finds?

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with all things beauty. I blame my mother. I grew up being the only girl and watching my mother in awe when she got dressed. My mother has the most beautiful full, long and thick hair. I was blessed as a little girl to have even thicker and longer hair than her. I must be admit, however, wash day was not my favorite. To this day, I am very tender headed. My mother taught me my hair was a source of pride and to always take care of it, embrace it and celebrate it. This was a challenge for me when I was younger because I went to schools where girls did not have the same hair texture as me. I felt different. My hair was thick and curly compared to their straight or wavy hair. However, over time, I learned to love my hair and my “Hairitage.” I love my hair texture, I love my curls, and I love it straight. I often get asked what my heritage is because of my skin tone and hair. My family heritage comprises a little bit of everything, and I think that makes it truly beautiful. I grew up in a household where my mother kept my hair routine and hers simple. My grandmother Pauline was a hairdresser so my “Hairitage” runs deep. My grandmother’s hair was also so chic. Even in her later years, I remember going to her retirement community and helping my mother wash it and set it on rollers. It was a part of her self-care beauty routine, even if she wasn’t going anywhere. She always said, “If you look good, you feel even better.” My mother taught me the necessity of a great beauty routine: cleanse your hair really well, condition it, protect it and give it some love. Pantene Nutrient Blends Miracle Moisture Boost Collection with Rose Water does all of these things for me. The smell even reminds me of wash days with my mother, the scent of her perfume in the air as she embarks on the difficult challenge of detangling my hair. Detangling my hair is easy now with the great ingredients in the Rose Water Nutrient Blends Collection. This collection focuses on soothing and hydrating dry and brittle hair - which for me happens when I’m constantly working out, shooting content or putting too much heat on my hair. Here are the facts you need to know about each product: Miracle Moisture Boost Sulfate Free Shampoo with Rose Water: The shampoo smells amazing, first and foremost. The scent of rose embodies my definition of self-care and beauty. It is a gentle cleanser that left my hair feeling soft and not harsh. Even before conditioning, I could feel the difference in how soft it made my hair feel. Miracle Moisture Boost Sulfate Free Conditioner with Rose Water: This too had an amazing rose scent that was not over-powering. With ingredients like pro-vitamin B5, antioxidants and rose water, it helped to seal in moisture for softer hair. This would work as a great co-wash conditioner for me when I’m in between full washes. Miracle Moisture Boost Petal Soft Hair Treatment with Rose Water: This was heaven in a jar. It had the same scent notes of the shampoo and conditioner and was very lightweight. I used this after shampooing to help with detangling my hair. I left it on for 5-7 minutes to let it nourish my hair and hydrate every strand. This is a great weekly moisturizing treatment. Other hair questions I often get are: Q: How do you grow your hair out so fast? I love healthy hair and healthy scalp care. I don’t like putting a lot of heat on my hair, and I love wearing protective styles. When your lifestyle is always on the go or having to take pictures often, protective styles are lifesavers in keeping my hair healthy and happy. It’s important, however, if your hair is braided up to make sure to take it out and properly wash, condition and moisturize it when needed (depending on your hair texture). Q: What types of products work well with your hair type? Products that are free of sulfates, parabens, dyes and mineral oil , like the Nutrient Blends Collection, work really well with my hair. Products that are enriched with hydrating and soothing properties, like the benefits in the Rose Water Collection. Q: What does your hair care routine look like? My wash day is a day of self-care for me and perhaps many other women. Cancel all plans, right, ladies? Wash day is nothing to play about. We love to take our time, love on our hair, and treat it with the best products that work well with our hair. Indulging in hair products that have an amazing scent, like this Rose Water Collection is also part of my hair care routine. I was also told to treat my hair like a crown, what better way than to care for it with the best nourishing, moisturizing products. I encourage you all to try out this fantastic, luxurious and nourishing hair love collection from Pantene. You can find the Miracle Moisture Boost Collection with Rose Water at Pantene.com. Pick up the collection and let me know how you like it, tell me about your “Hairitage” and practice some great self love hair care. Backstory:
