Day 8 Living Abroad: Girls Night Out with Revery Hotel and Empress 1908 Gin

After being stuck in bed in Toronto for what felt like forever, the antibiotics finally started doing their thing. I’m not back to 100%—still can’t hear properly out of my left ear—but enough was enough. A girl’s gotta get OUTSIDE!

I was thrilled to be invited to a Girls Night Out hosted by Revery Hotel and Empress 1908 Gin. Honestly, anything with “1908” in the name has to be good, right? (Sorors, you know what I mean!) So, I pulled myself together, got dressed up, and headed out for the night.

When I arrived at the Revery Hotel, I was absolutely blown away. This place is STUNNING. As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with the vibes—think red velvet decor, a DJ spinning tunes, and just an overall luxurious atmosphere. It was the perfect setting to shake off the last remnants of being cooped up in my hotel.

I made my way upstairs to their restaurant, and let me tell you, the decor there was even more fabulous. Plush pink velvet everywhere—it was so cute, I immediately wanted to redecorate my house! The bar was showcasing two signature Empress Gin cocktails, and I couldn’t resist trying the Lavender Haze. This dreamy purple drink, made with Empress 1908 Indigo Gin, Lavender, Honey Syrup, and Lemon, was just as delicious as it sounds. I wanted to try the other cocktail, the Starlight, which featured Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin, Cardamom, Rose, and Lemon, but I decided to pace myself since I’m still on the mend.

Next, we moved into a private dining room where the culinary magic happened. The menu was packed with delicious options, and I indulged in everything from focaccia bread with various spreads to a refreshing watermelon salad that quickly became my favorite. The duck was succulent, the paella was perfectly seasoned, and the tortellini? So good, I’ll be dreaming about it until I go back. We ended the meal with a decadent dessert of Red Velvet Tartufo and macaroons—pure bliss.

The evening wrapped up with some fabulous goodie bags and the chance to connect with some amazing Canadian creators. It was a night to remember, and I’m so grateful for the invite from Revery Hotel and Empress 1908 Gin. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more of what this incredible place has to offer.
