Officially T-W-E-N-T-Y Pounds Down with Profile by Sanford!
I officially started my journey with Profile by Sanford on June 1st and I have not looked back. Guys, I can not stress enough of how much this program as truly WORKED for me. It has not been easy but the results have been so WORTH it. The non-scale victories have really done it for me. My energy level is high without caffeine, my mood has improved, my clothes are fitting differently, others have taken notice of how my body is changing and overall I am more confident in what I do. Now, I know quite of few of my followers are interested in the program but you have not pulled the trigger due to the cost. Let me tell you, you are WORTH IT. I know it is an investment, but isn’t your health? If you do the numbers you probably spend more money eating out a month than this program. Also, I would check to see if your employer covers any of the cost - it doesn’t hurt to ask! At least book a free consult and see what you think from there. I promise it's worth it. I’m excited to see what the rest of the month holds in store for me and my goals! If you want to read more about my journey this week and how you can join me on this program you can use my special code MORGAN for a discount, so make sure you check it out! Beauty Trends can sometimes be scary, but hey beauty is pain - right? Here are a few beauty trends you may be scared to try but you should do it anyway. BotoxNow, I know what you are thinking. Botox is for really bad wrinkles or I don't want to get Botox and not be able to move my face. These are both misconceptions. For me, I get Botox for my chronic migraines, I tried everything prior to getting Botox and this has been my saving grace. I've gotten Botox for YEARS. If it serves a dual whammy of making my forehead smooth, then so be it :) The secret to getting Botox is find someone who specializes in it and not just a bonus service. I paid my facial doctor, Dr. Donath a visit. He is the BEST. What led me to him was, he specializes just in the face and it took awhile to even get in for an appointment, you know that means he is doing something right. Botox is not just for older women, you can get Botox for preventative measures as well as extra benefits such as stopping migraines, like me. In the video, Dr. Donath explains in detail what he is going to do, the procedure is painless as they numb the area before. If you're scared of needles then close your eyes, you'll only feel a slight pinch. The recovery time is very minimal. The basic things are, you can't exercise for 24 hours, you can't lay down for 4 hours to avoid increased blood flow which might cause the botox to be dispersed, and other guidelines your Doctor should give you for aftercare. This is a beauty trend, I definitely approve and you should try. Please hit up Dr. Donath's office for a consultation, his whole staff is amazing. Infrared BlanketYou must be looking at this picture and saying, what is this Morgan and why. Let me tell you, my good friends over at Rapid Results Cryo. introduced me to this new beauty treatment with their Infrared Blanket. Tiffany put me into this full body blanket that heats up and helps:
Sounds like a good time to me! Make sure you visit Rapid Results Cryo and take advantage of some special offers this month! Microblading/MicroshadingEveryone wants great eyebrows, right? Often times my eyebrows take the longest getting that perfect shape. The Brow Therapist offers semi permanent eyebrow services if you dare for great brows as soon as you wake up. Now, I have not tried this beauty trend yet, because I had several questions like: will it hurt? what if I don't like it? I don't want my brows looking crazy. My advice would be to go to someone who has a lot of pictures of their work like The Brow Therapist. All my questions were answered on her FAQ page such as: Things you should know about Semi-permanent brows?
This made me feel comfortable, I will be trying this beauty trend very soon! Yoni SteamNow, I know - what kind of steam? Well ladies, this is something that looks scary but really is not. I check out Me&She Doula Services which is also a Black Woman Owned business. Her space was beautiful and so relaxing. So what is a Yoni Steam? A tradition used worldwide for centuries throughout many cultures across the globe. Yoni steam provides support to womb wellness through the use of gentle steam that permeates the delicate tissues of the vagina. This treatment, bringing nutrients and health to the womb, provides women’s bodies with a multitude of benefits including:
For the month of August, Me&She Doula Services has a Fertility Friday Special. Every Friday steam sessions are only $35. So, which one of these would you try or have tried?
You’re never too old for a tea party! Even if it’s solo. I spent a self care day at one of my local favorite places, the BonBonerie. I’ve partially grown up at this place and I love its whimsical charm. I had afternoon tea with all the bells and whistles. They have a beautiful secret garden you can enjoy your afternoon tea in.
The BonBonerie is located in the heart of Oakley. They offer other amazing treats in their bakery, but they also have cafe where you can grab breakfast, lunch and of course tea. They even have a children’s tea menu so you can bring your little ones for tea. So cute! The afternoon tea I had included:
Due to what’s going on in the world, I would call and make a tea reservation ahead of time to ensure you can get in. Is this something you would do? Pinkies up :) I acted a straight fool last week. Confession time. I did not stick to my Profile by Sanford plan this past week. I had a lot of things going on that took me off track. However it was a great learning experience. As much as a tried to plan my week and off set the bad eating choices I made, I did not gain weight but my body felt the effects. I made sure I told my coach Jess the absolute truth, being transparent in a wellness journey is so important. I told her my struggles, I told her my cravings and certain things I let myself indulge in. After making great progress since June 1st, I thought I could handle making certain tweaks here and there. What I did learn was:
Honestly, I am glad I had a rough week so I have something I can look back on and remember, it wasn’t worth it. My coach Jess challenged me this week to cook all my meals and stick with my plan like I did in week one. I’m glad I have someone who encourages me instead of criticizes me - that really made me want to get back to business and buckle down on my plan. The first thing I needed to do was go re-up on my favorite Profile by Sanford shakes and food like these chewy chocolate almond bars, they are one of my favorites! ’m making sure while I handle business, I’m still handling business. I’m ready to conquer and take back my goals! Do you think I’ll have a better week? You should join me on this journey and hold each other accountable! You can use my special code MORGAN for a discount. Get ready to be jealous. I spent last Saturday at the beautiful new Cincinnati Hotel, Lytle Park Hotel. This beauty is located right off of 4th street downtown, and is perfect for a great getaway, dinner or just for play. Now, I know what some of you may be thinking, "Is it safe to stay at hotels right now?" I had no worries. The Lytle Park Hotel requires that you wear a mask as soon as you enter, all the staff had masks on, there were hand sanitizers on every floor near the elevator and I could definitely tell that social distancing was in full effect. Let me also add, this was Ralph's very FIRST Hotel stay, I love that it is pet friendly. Ralph even got his own bag and dog treat when we first checked in. The hotel room was GORGEOUS. I was greeted with a special welcome gift and a bottle of the Lytle Park Hotel's Sparkling Wine - it was an awesome surprise! They were already ready for Ralph and he had his very own water and food bowl. Ralph was thought of, just like me. I really appreciated that touch. I tend to be a bathroom snob, and this bathroom did NOT disappoint. I really wanted to live in this shower, it was amazing. Ralph even wanted to hop in. I could not wait to be able to immerse myself into this shower after I had dinner and a cocktail, snuggle into my robe and lounge in the bed watching Netflix. Inside the hotel is an amazing restaurant called Subito. Let me tell you, ya'll know how I feel about food and GOOD food at that. The Subito is authentic italian with a modern flair. They have a very impressive menu ranging from pasta, pizzas to award winning steaks. As much as I wanted to try their pasta, I was good since I am on a healthy journey right now. HOWEVER, I will be back to try their pasta very soon! I started with a shrimp cocktail (because I'm obsessed with shrimp cocktails, since I was a little girl), I had the Panzanella salad which had: greens, red onion tomato, hand-ripped focaccia and red wine vinaigrette. I wasn't sure I would like it, but it was amazing - it did not stand a chance on my plate. For my entree, I had the 8 oz tenderloin, beef bone broth reduction, ricotta-whipped potatoes and sherry mushrooms on the side. The steak was so tender and juicy. Whenever I travel I always have to go to a really great steakhouse - this one did not disappoint. Overall, I enjoyed dinner and was completely satisfied. Ya'll would be so proud of me, as much as I wanted to try their desert, especially the cannolis - I was good! After dinner, I decided to treat myself to a cocktail and enjoy some sun. The hotel also has a seasonal rooftop bar called The Vista. The views are amazing and you can truly experience a great city view of downtown Cincinnati. If you are traveling from out of state, you will love this view. The rooftop bar reminded me of being in Chicago or NYC. I can't wait to experience it in the Fall when the weather is a little bit more friendly, ya'll know I am not a hot weather girl. I was a little nervous about bringing Ralph since this was his first hotel experience. However, he did really well! There is a dog park right outside the hotel that I took Ralph to after my dinner experience to walk off some calories but also let Ralph do his business. Ralph only cried a little bit when I left for dinner, when I came back he was sitting down waiting on me to come back. In the bedroom, Ralph completely adjusted and layed in the bed with me, actually Ralph fell asleep before me. He only woke up a couple times during the night, once to finally eat his food and two when he heard concierge bring me some aleve (I had a horrible headache, probably due to all the great drinks and not eating all day before dinner). The hotel staff took great care of me. Overall, the experience Ralph and I had at the Lytle Park Hotel was above 5 stars. If you live in Cincinnati and just want to get away from being in your home, whether you plan on traveling to Cincinnati, or maybe you just wanted a cute social distancing dinner/drink date - I would highly recommend staying and playing at the Lytle Park Hotel. The ambiance is amazing, the decor is beautiful, the drinks/food are delicious, the staff was so amazing. Thank you to Julie and her staff at the Lytle for making my stay so memorable.
Thank you to Molly and Francesca for coordinating a wonderful weekend stay. I truly value your amazing service and allowing me and Ralph to stay at this beautiful hotel. Often times, bloggers of color don't get the same opportunities as others - so that speaks volumes. I look forward staying at the Lytle Park hotel again, and encourage all my followers/supporters to do the same! Let me know when you go :) |
