My GLP-1 Journey: It's About So Much More Than Weight Loss

If you've followed me for a while, you know I've always been open about my wellness journey. What you may not know is that I've struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. The frustrating part? I've never been someone who just sat around.

I've traveled the world, stayed active, worked out, and over the past year, committed to Pilates multiple times a week. I've tried diets, calorie counting, meal plans, and all the things we're told we're supposed to do. Sometimes I'd lose weight, only to gain it back. Other times, I'd feel like I was doing everything "right" and the scale barely moved.
It was discouraging.

As I entered my late 30s and now my 40s, I also noticed my body responding differently. My metabolism wasn't the same, my energy fluctuated more, and despite my efforts, losing weight became even more challenging.

Then there was another concern: my health. During routine lab work, I learned my blood sugar levels had entered the pre-diabetic range. That was the wake-up call I needed. My goal was never to be skinny it was to become healthier and reduce my risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and other health complications down the road. After talking with my healthcare provider, I decided to start a GLP-1 medication.

It wasn't a decision I made lightly. There are so many opinions surrounding GLP-1s, and I knew people would have something to say. But I also realized something important: no one else lives in my body. No one else sees the work I put in every single day or understands my personal health journey.

Since starting my GLP-1, I've learned so much more than how to lose weight. I've learned how to fuel my body with more protein, prioritize hydration, and truly listen to my hunger cues. For the first time in a long time, I wasn't constantly thinking about food. It gave me the space to make intentional choices instead of feeling like I was fighting cravings all day.

One of the biggest victories hasn't even been the number on the scale it's been seeing my health improve. My pre-diabetic levels have come down, and knowing I'm moving in a healthier direction means more to me than fitting into a smaller dress size ever could.
Has it been easy? Not at all.

I've experienced nausea, especially after increasing my dosage. There have been days when food didn't sound appealing, and I've had to remind myself to eat enough protein and vegetables even when I wasn't hungry. I've learned that electrolytes are my friend, hydration is non-negotiable, and giving my body grace is just as important as staying consistent.

The medication hasn't done the work for me. I still show up to Pilates. I still choose movement. I still make healthier food choices. I still prioritize sleep and my mental health. A GLP-1 has simply become another tool in my wellness toolbox it hasn't replaced the healthy habits I've worked so hard to build.

I also think it's important to say this: everyone's journey is different.
GLP-1 medications aren't right for everyone, and they're not a shortcut. They're a medical treatment that should always be discussed with a qualified healthcare provider. What has worked for me may not be the right choice for someone else, and that's okay.

As someone who has openly shared my journey through grief, entrepreneurship, and learning to choose myself, this wellness journey feels like another chapter in that story. At 40, I'm no longer chasing perfection. I'm chasing longevity. I want to travel, build my businesses, teach Pilates, and enjoy life for many years to come. Taking care of my health is an investment in that future.

If you've been following my progress, thank you for cheering me on and allowing me to be honest about both the victories and the challenges. My hope is that by sharing my experience, someone else feels a little less alone and a little more empowered to have a conversation with their healthcare provider about what wellness could look like for them.
If you've been curious about starting your own GLP-1 journey, I'm excited to share the provider I've partnered with.

Morgan in Montreal: Sometimes the Best Business Move Is to Step Away

If you've been following me for a while, you know I've developed a bit of a tradition over the past few years. Every summer, I leave the United States for a while. Some people think it's a vacation, but honestly, it's become so much more than that. It's my reset. This year, that reset looks like Montreal.

I'll be calling this beautiful city home until September, and while there will absolutely be adventures, amazing food, weekend getaways, and hopefully some entertaining dating stories, the real reason I'm here is much deeper.

Entrepreneurship has been hard. I don't think enough people talk about what it's like when you're in a season of transition. Social media often celebrates the wins, the sold-out events, the six-figure launches, and the exciting brand partnerships. What people don't always see are the moments when you're forced to pause and ask yourself, "What's next?"
This year has been one of those moments for me.

I made the difficult decision to move the Professional Pretty Conference from June to October. It was the right decision, but it also gave me something I haven't had in a very long time—space. For the first time in more than ten years, I don't have monthly contracts on my calendar. If I'm being honest, that realization was both unsettling and strangely freeing.

As entrepreneurs, it's easy to tie our worth to how busy we are. We measure success by how full our calendars look, how many clients we're juggling, or how many emails are waiting for us when we wake up. When that rhythm changes, it can feel uncomfortable. You start questioning yourself. Am I doing enough? Am I falling behind? What's my next move? Instead of letting those questions consume me, I decided to change my environment.

Sometimes the best way to hear yourself think is to leave the noise behind. Montreal gives me exactly what I've been craving: a slower pace, a walkable city, incredible cafés to work from, beautiful parks, and enough distance from my everyday routine to dream again.
This summer isn't about running away from my business. It's about running toward the next version of it.

I'm using this time intentionally to map out 2027, develop new partnerships, reimagine Professional Pretty, grow my media business, write, create content, and think strategically about where I want my career to go over the next decade—not just the next few months.
Turning 40 has changed my perspective in ways I didn't expect. I've realized I don't just want to work harder; I want to work smarter. I want to build a business that gives me freedom, not just responsibilities. I want to create experiences that have impact while also creating a life that feels fulfilling.

Of course, it won't all be work. One of my personal goals while I'm here is to finally improve my French. I've always wanted to become more confident speaking the language, and living in a bilingual city feels like the perfect opportunity to practice every single day. So don't be surprised if you see me attempting conversations at coffee shops, ordering in French, or celebrating the little victories along the way.
I'm also giving myself permission to simply enjoy life. That means saying yes to new experiences, exploring neighborhoods I've never visited, taking weekend trips, trying new restaurants, meeting new people, and yes navigating whatever adventures my dating life decides to throw my way.

Because life isn't meant to be lived only through work.
It's meant to be experienced. If there's one thing I've learned over the past few years—through grief, entrepreneurship, travel, and turning 40—it's that growth doesn't always happen when you're grinding. Sometimes it happens when you create enough space to listen to yourself again.

So welcome to my Morgan in Montreal era. Over the next few months, I'll be sharing the highs, the challenges, the business lessons, the wellness journey, the travel adventures, my attempts at speaking French, and everything in between. Who knows what this season will bring? I certainly don't have all the answers.

But I have a feeling it's going to be one of the most transformative chapters yet. Stay tuned for my Morgan in Montreal Tales. I think this is going to be a good one.

Half the Year Is Gone. Is It Time to Reset Your Business Strategy?

6/25/2026

There is something about June that always makes me reflective. Maybe it's the start of summer, the longer days, or simply realizing that we've reached the halfway point of the year. Six months have already passed, and whether your year has gone exactly as planned or completely off course, this season offers an opportunity to pause, evaluate, and decide what you want the next six months to look like.

As I continue navigating this milestone year of turning 40, I've found myself doing a lot of reflection not just about life, but about entrepreneurship. The truth is, business feels very different today than it did a few years ago. For many entrepreneurs, especially women and minority founders, the landscape has shifted dramatically.

For years, much of my work was supported by partnerships, sponsorships, and initiatives that invested in diverse voices and underserved communities. Through Professional Pretty, Herald Beauty, conferences, wellness experiences, media opportunities, and community events, I built platforms designed to create access, connection, and representation. I knew these spaces were needed because I often found myself looking for them.

Over the last year, however, I've watched many of those opportunities change. Marketing budgets have tightened, DEI funding has been reduced or eliminated, and partnerships that once felt like natural fits have become harder to secure. Like many entrepreneurs, I've spent more time pitching, negotiating, and trying to create opportunities than ever before.

If I'm being honest, there have been moments when I've questioned whether I have the energy to keep pushing forward at the same pace. Not because I don't believe in the work, but because entrepreneurship can become emotionally exhausting when you're constantly building, creating, serving, and showing up while also navigating uncertainty behind the scenes.

I know I'm not alone in that feeling. So many entrepreneurs I talk to are carrying the same weight. They're working hard, but they're tired. They're passionate, but they're stretched thin. They aren't necessarily lacking talent, expertise, or impact. They're simply operating in a business environment that looks very different from the one they started in. That's why I've been thinking differently about this halfway point in the year.

Instead of looking at June as a reminder of everything I haven't accomplished, I'm choosing to see it as a reset point. A chance to ask better questions. What's actually working in my business? What's no longer serving me? Am I building a business that supports the life I want, or am I constantly sacrificing my well-being in order to keep everything moving?

One thing I've learned over the years is that passion can only take you so far. At some point, every entrepreneur needs strategy. We need structure. We need objective guidance that helps us identify blind spots and opportunities we may not be able to see ourselves.

That's one reason the work of Tasha Randle and 828 Leadership Group has resonated with me. Tasha works with entrepreneurs and leaders to help them better position their expertise, strengthen their business strategy, and create sustainable growth. What I appreciate most is her focus on helping founders evolve alongside the changing marketplace rather than continuing to rely on strategies that may have worked years ago but aren't producing the same results today.

Many entrepreneurs have spent years operating from passion alone. We've worn burnout like a badge of honor. We've overextended ourselves, underpriced our services, and convinced ourselves that working harder was the answer. But sometimes growth doesn't come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from gaining clarity about what needs to change.

As we enter the second half of the year, I think that's the real opportunity in front of us. Not to abandon our dreams or give up on our goals, but to reassess our approach. To build smarter. To create businesses that are both impactful and sustainable.

If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next move, I encourage you to start with Tasha's free audio guide, "Why Sales Feel Harder Than They Should (And 5 Signs Your Value May Be Getting Lost in Translation)."

It walks through some of the hidden reasons business growth can feel harder than it should and may help you see where your effort could be getting lost in the process.

And if you discover you need deeper support, Tasha also works with founders through her Strategic Advisory Intensive to help them clarify their positioning, communicate their value more effectively, and create sustainable growth.

Click here to listen to the audio guide.

After all, there are still six months left in the year. That's more than enough time to make a meaningful shift, create new momentum, and build a business that supports not only your goals, but your well-being too.

Summer Is Here: 3 Simple Ways to Protect Your Health This Season

6/19/2026

Picture
Summer is officially here, and for many of us, that means vacations, outdoor events, pool days, family gatherings, and spending more time enjoying the sunshine. While summer can be one of the most fun times of the year, it's also a great opportunity to prioritize your health and wellness. The good news? Taking care of yourself doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the smallest habits can make the biggest impact.

I recently connected with Marcy and the team at Our Health in Focus, and one thing that stood out is their commitment to helping individuals take a proactive approach to their health. Summer is the perfect reminder that our well-being deserves attention year-round, not just when something feels wrong.

Here are three simple health tips to help you feel your best this summer.

1. Stay Hydrated—Even When You Don't Feel Thirsty
Between higher temperatures, outdoor activities, and travel, dehydration can sneak up on us quickly during the summer months. Many people wait until they're thirsty to drink water, but by then, your body may already be showing signs that it needs more fluids. Fatigue, headaches, dizziness, and lack of focus can all be linked to dehydration.

One easy habit is carrying a reusable water bottle wherever you go. Adding fresh fruit like lemon, strawberries, or cucumber can also make hydration feel less like a chore and more like a treat.
If you're spending time outdoors, traveling, or exercising, don't forget that your body may need even more fluids than usual.

2. Protect Your Skin Every Day
Sunscreen isn't just for beach vacations.
Whether you're walking the dog, attending an outdoor festival, sitting at your child's sporting event, or grabbing lunch on a patio, your skin is exposed to UV rays daily.

Many people with melanated skin mistakenly believe they don't need sunscreen, but everyone benefits from protecting their skin from premature aging, sun damage, and skin cancer risks.
Make sunscreen part of your morning routine, just like brushing your teeth. Look for a broad-spectrum SPF and remember to reapply throughout the day if you're spending extended time outdoors. Your future self will thank you.

3. Schedule the Health Appointments You've Been Putting Off
Summer schedules tend to be more flexible, making it an ideal time to catch up on preventive care. When life gets busy, routine screenings, annual physicals, and wellness visits often fall to the bottom of our to-do list. However, preventive care plays a critical role in identifying potential health concerns before they become more serious.

This season, consider using the slower pace of summer to schedule those appointments you've been postponing. Staying informed about your health is one of the most important investments you can make in yourself.

Organizations like Our Health in Focus continue to emphasize the importance of education, awareness, and access when it comes to helping individuals make informed decisions about their health and wellness.

Summer is meant to be enjoyed, but it's also a great reminder that wellness should remain a priority no matter the season. By focusing on hydration, protecting your skin, and staying current with preventive care, you can set yourself up for a healthier and more enjoyable summer. After all, the best summer plans start with feeling your best.

Why a Quick Trip to Phoenix Was Exactly What My Mental Health Needed

6/19/2026

As someone who travels frequently for work, people often assume every trip is packed with meetings, content creation, events, and a full itinerary. While many of my trips do look that way, this recent getaway to Phoenix, Arizona, served a very different purpose. I needed a mental reset.

This year has been filled with a lot of growth, reflection, and transition. Between running businesses, planning events, creating content, writing, speaking, and navigating life as a newly 40-year-old woman, I found myself craving something I think many of us need more of: space. Not space to work on the next project or chase the next goal, but space to simply exist without constantly feeling pulled in a dozen different directions.

When life starts to feel overwhelming, I've learned that one of the healthiest things I can do is step away from my routine long enough to gain perspective. That's exactly what Phoenix provided.
One of the best parts of the trip was how easy it was to get there. Thanks to a nonstop flight on Allegiant Air, I was able to leave Cincinnati and trade gray skies and responsibilities for sunshine, palm trees, and desert views within a matter of hours. There is something incredibly freeing about boarding a plane knowing the only thing on your agenda is taking care of yourself.

For my stay, I checked into The Camby Hotel, and it couldn't have been a better fit for this trip. The property strikes a balance between luxury and comfort, making it easy to settle in and truly relax. From slow mornings with coffee to quiet evenings reflecting on the year so far, The Camby became the perfect backdrop for the kind of intentional rest I didn't realize I needed.

What I appreciated most about Phoenix was the pace. There was no pressure to constantly be productive. Instead, I spent my time doing simple things that often get overlooked in our busy lives. I enjoyed long walks, explored the city, visited wellness-focused experiences, and spent time outdoors soaking up the Arizona sunshine. I allowed myself to disconnect from the constant cycle of emails, deadlines, and notifications that can easily consume our attention.

As entrepreneurs and ambitious women, we're often conditioned to believe that rest is something we earn after we've completed everything on our to-do list. The problem is that the to-do list never really ends. There is always another project, another opportunity, another event, another responsibility waiting for us. If we continue waiting for the perfect time to prioritize ourselves, we may never do it. This trip reminded me that mental wellness isn't always about making dramatic changes. Sometimes it's about creating moments to pause.

It's about stepping away long enough to check in with yourself and ask whether you're giving your mind the same level of care that you give your career, family, business, and everyone else around you. By the time I boarded my flight home, nothing about my workload had changed. My inbox was still waiting for me. My responsibilities were still there. But I felt different. I felt lighter. More rested. More clear. More connected to myself.

Travel has always been one of my favorite forms of self-care because it gives me the opportunity to reset, reflect, and return with a renewed perspective. This trip to Phoenix was a reminder that sometimes the most productive thing you can do is take a break.
And honestly, it was exactly what I needed.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or simply in need of a change of scenery, consider this your reminder that taking care of your mental health is not a luxury—it's a necessity. Sometimes all it takes is a plane ticket, a little sunshine, and permission to put yourself first.

If you've been following me for a while, you know I'm all about investing in myself, feeling confident in my skin, and finding ways to look and feel my best without spending hours in the gym. That's why I'm excited that Summer Sculpt is officially back at Viva Body Sculpt—and if you've been thinking about booking, consider this your sign to stop scrolling and schedule your appointment.

Let's be honest. Summer has a way of sneaking up on us. One minute we're saying we have plenty of time, and the next we're pulling out swimsuits, vacation outfits, and sundresses wondering where the year went. Whether you're preparing for a girls' trip, a milestone birthday, a wedding, a beach vacation, or simply want to feel more confident this season, now is the perfect time to focus on you.

What I love about Viva Body Sculpt is that it's not about chasing perfection. It's about helping you feel more confident, more comfortable, and more empowered in your own body. We spend so much time taking care of everyone else that we often forget to pour back into ourselves. Summer Sculpt is your opportunity to do exactly that.

One of the biggest reasons clients love body sculpting is that it complements the healthy habits you're already working on. Maybe you've been walking more, hitting Pilates classes, staying consistent with your workouts, or focusing on better nutrition. Body sculpting can help support those efforts by targeting stubborn areas that often feel resistant despite our best efforts.

Let's face it—many of us have those areas. The lower stomach that doesn't seem to budge. The sides. The back. The thighs. The areas that make us say, "I've been working hard, but I wish I could see a little more definition." Summer Sculpt is designed to help enhance your natural shape and help you feel your most confident heading into the season.

What makes Viva Body Sculpt stand out is their commitment to helping clients look and feel their best through customized treatments designed around individual goals. Every body is different, and every transformation journey is unique. That's why I appreciate that the experience isn't one-size-fits-all. The team takes the time to understand your goals and create a plan that works for you.
As someone who believes confidence is one of the best beauty treatments available, I also love that body sculpting isn't just about physical results. It's about how you feel when you put on your favorite outfit. It's about showing up for yourself. It's about looking in the mirror and feeling proud of the effort you're putting into your wellness journey.

And if you've been waiting for the "perfect time" to book, let me save you some time: the perfect time is now.

Summer calendars fill up quickly. Vacations are being booked. Events are being planned. Photos are being taken. The sooner you start, the more time you'll have to work toward your goals and enjoy the results throughout the season.

Whether you're looking to jumpstart your confidence, maintain the progress you've already made, or simply treat yourself to some well-deserved self-care, Summer Sculpt at Viva Body Sculpt is worth adding to your summer wellness checklist.

Trust me when I say this: your future self will thank you.

Give Your Car a Break This Summer: Let Metro and MetroNOW Get You There

Summer in Cincinnati is one of my favorite times of year. The city is buzzing with festivals, concerts, shopping, family fun, and endless opportunities to get outside and make memories. But if there's one thing that can quickly take the fun out of a summer adventure, it's sitting in traffic, paying for parking, and dealing with the stress of driving everywhere. This summer, I'm partnering with Metro and MetroNOW to encourage you to give your car a break and discover just how easy it can be to get around Greater Cincinnati.

As someone who is always exploring the city, I'm constantly looking for ways to make life a little easier. Whether you're heading out for a day of shopping, meeting friends downtown, or planning a family outing, Metro and MetroNOW offer affordable, convenient transportation options that help you spend less time worrying about the drive and more time enjoying the experience.

Looking for family-friendly summer fun? A trip to Kings Island is always a great idea. From roller coasters and water rides to live entertainment, it's one of the region's most popular attractions. Instead of navigating busy roads and crowded parking lots, consider letting MetroNOW help get you there so you can start enjoying your day before you even arrive.

Need a little retail therapy? Kenwood Towne Centre remains one of Cincinnati's premier shopping destinations. Whether you're refreshing your summer wardrobe, grabbing lunch with friends, or hunting for the perfect seasonal finds, Metro makes getting there simple without the hassle of finding parking during peak shopping hours.

Let's talk about downtown Cincinnati, because summer is when the city truly shines. From Salsa on the Square and Reggae Night to concerts, festivals, Reds games, and events along the riverfront, there's always something happening. Some of my favorite summer memories have been made downtown, dancing under the stars, discovering local vendors, and enjoying Cincinnati's incredible energy. With Metro and MetroNOW, getting downtown is easy, allowing you to focus on the fun instead of traffic and parking fees.

Another great destination is The Banks. Whether you're taking a stroll along the river, meeting friends for dinner, enjoying Smale Riverfront Park, or catching a game, it's one of the best places to soak up the summer atmosphere. Metro makes it easy to get there and enjoy everything downtown has to offer.

Beyond convenience, choosing Metro and MetroNOW is also a great way to support a more connected and sustainable community. Every ride helps reduce congestion, creates more transportation options for residents, and contributes to a cleaner, more accessible Cincinnati.

This summer, I challenge you to think differently about how you get around. Leave the car at home once in a while. Skip the parking headaches. Avoid the stress of traffic. Instead, hop on Metro or schedule a ride with MetroNOW and enjoy the journey.

Whether you're heading to Kings Island, shopping at Kenwood Towne Centre, dancing at Salsa on the Square, vibing at Reggae Night, cheering on the Reds, or simply exploring everything our city has to offer, Metro and MetroNOW can help get you there.

Because summer should be about making memories not worrying about where to park.
