Festival season is upon us. Whether you are enjoying your local outdoor concerts or going somewhere national like Essence Fest, you are going to need some amazing beauty and fashion products. I am born and raised from Cincinnati Ohio, we have an amazing Music Festival each year, now known as the Cincinnati Music Festival. Every year I make sure my skin, makeup, hair and accessories are on point – you never know who you will run into. Here are 5 small minority woman owned businesses you can support while getting “festival ready.”
1. Skin care
Basics first. Being outside, wearing makeup, traveling and in the heat can take a toll on your skin, so let’s make sure we take care of our face. This cleaner by CK Beauty & Aesthetics is just what you need for any weekend of turning up. This Cleanser is hyper pigmentation focused and infused with Kojic acid which helps to fade and lighten hyper pigmentation at a faster rate. Also glycolic is infused in this cleanser which also fade hyper pigmentation and helps to remove fine lines and age spots this cleanser is truly a win-win!

2. Nails
Press on nails have really stepped their game up.  These are a great way to try out summer nail trends without making a big commitment. You also don’t have to go into a nail salon to achieve this look. You can go to your local drugstore or support local nail techs by purchasing custom press on nail sets. This set is by Boujie Nails. What I love about these is you can scan a nail with your phone, and it will pull up a website – now that’s a way to “work” your network!

3. Makeup
Of course, you’ll need the perfect pout while you are attending any festival. Spice it up with colors, now is the time. I found this amazing minority owned business, Rouge Ligne Beauty – the owner is known for her love of a great red lip. Make sure this goes into your travel bag. Find the perfect shade(s) for you this summer.

4. Earrings
Who doesn’t love a great pair of hoops? Cute Hoops is a Black woman owned company. I love their statement of, “The LOVE of hoop earrings is why we highlight an item that women have rocked so faithfully. We rock big hoops, small hoops and all sizes in between. It’s our culture. It’s our style. It’s our story.” This summer rock some “cute” hoops – like we do gracefully and effortlessly.

5. Self-Care Essentials
Make sure we are also taking care of our mind, body and soul – wherever we go. Healing Aroma, believes in using Natural, Vegan, and Cruelty Free ingredients to craft quality products. They’ve researched aromatherapy practices and essential oil use to create safe and effective products to provide self-care essentials. I am loving their body butter, body oil and shower spray. If you travel like I do, these are the perfect “self-care” on the go products to take.
